Rookie of the Year

Monday, March 21, 2016

The night before our office sales meeting, my managing broker sent me a text: "Are you coming to the meeting tomorrow morning? Please do all you can to make it." I told him I'd be there, thoughts swirling through my mind.

I knew I was a nominee for the Rookie of the Year award, and more than anything, I wanted it. But nothing was certain, and I didn't want to set unrealistic expectations. I slept fitfully that night.

The next morning, my dream came true. Andy made the announcement midway through our meeting, and I almost cried. It was the sort of moment that I want to hold on to for as long as I can.

I am unbelievably honored to be Coldwell Banker's Rookie of the Year for the city region. 2015 was a rollercoaster -- receiving this award puts the trials and triumphs into perspective. This wild year in real estate taught me more about trusting God than ever before. I can't do anything on my own. I need someone else (JC!) to do it through me.

Additionally, I'm thankful for friends and family. My parents are my biggest fans. My best friend is a constant cheerleader. My little brothers are there for me through it all. I have a phenomenal support system in place -- without these people, I would sink.

I'd be remiss if I didn't thank my managing broker, Andy Shiparski, and all he has done for me. He's an invaluable resource and a cherished mentor. With Andy and Coldwell Banker behind me, I feel very confident that I can close any transaction.

Lastly, I couldn't have achieved Rookie of the Year without my clients. These are people that put their finances and hopes into my hands, allowing me to guide them through to closing. What a joy to serve them. I look forward to many more years of this.
